My Story
My journey in creating Unpredictable Company started off, in a way, unintentional. I started by working for my local skateboard shop Boardanyone sometime in 2018. After working in that space for a few years and loving the access it provided me to find out more about different styles, and the processes behind creating them. With starting something along the lines of a “skate brand” a definite possibility in my mind, I kept working and learning more until I had the confidence and funds to finally start something (with a few helpful nudges from those around me). In early 2022 I started creating brand logos, coming up with design concepts, and working on the contacts for screen printers to bring my ideas to life. After learning about blanks and creating screen printed designs for a couple years I found I still wanted to know more about the actual clothing fabrication process. Which brings us to the time of writing this (25/07/06). I have now been sewing for roughly six months and have been falling in love with the creative process as a whole. My goal is now to keep learning and creating, while diving into full customs produced primarily from upcycled/thrifted garments and materials. If you choose to purchase one of my pieces, I hope you put as much love into wearing it as I did creating it.
Unpredictable Customs
After spending a few years working on screen printed designs, and building the start of this business, I decided to pick up sewing to learn more about how my product is actually made. About half a year later from that point now, and I am absolutely in love with the creative process hand sewing provides. I am shifting to making more sustainable hand sewn customs to provide more unique items, while giving life to old garments/fabrics that were otherwise destined for the landfill.
My Vision
Unpredictable Company is a passion project for me. My goal is to provide people with a unique style of clothing inspired by my background in skateboarding and retail. I intend to keep creating these styles by screen printing designs, while doing full customs as well. And really, at the end of the day, making whatever I’m feeling in the creative mood to make. I am shifting to making more sustainable items by hand sewing full custom pieces from upcycled fabrics that are either thrifted or donated to me. Always learning, and always creating.
